What is Holistic Biblical Counseling at Women of the Truth?

Holistic Biblical Counseling (HBC) is focused discipleship in a problem area of a person's life for a period of time. It places Jesus Christ at the center of the counseling process. HBC firmly believes the Bible provides comprehensive guidance for understanding human nature, overcoming sin, and fostering spiritual growth. This counseling model acknowledges that all individuals are broken and in need of redemption, and that true healing comes through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

By integrating biblical principles and values, Holistic Biblical Counseling encourages reliance on prayer, Scripture, and the Holy Spirit. The goal is to assist individuals in discovering their identity in Christ, conquering sin, aligning their lives with God's purpose, and experiencing hope, forgiveness, and restoration through faith.

It is important to note that Holistic Biblical Counseling is not state licensed counseling.

Who can come for counseling?

Although I have experience with varied populations, at this time I work with women ages 18+.

Is your counseling online only?

I primarily hold counseling sessions online through Zoom. However, if you’re in the central New Jersey area, we might be able to have some in person sessions. :)

What can I expect?

Counseling appointments typically last for about an hour, with the option for longer sessions upon request. Our initial meeting, known as the "intake session," allows us to get to know each other and understand your individual circumstances. Together, we establish achievable goals and outline a plan for our upcoming sessions. Following the intake session, we collaborate to make progress towards these goals. The number of sessions required and the pace of progress depend on the level of commitment from the individual seeking counseling. Active participation and dedication on your part are key factors in achieving positive results within a shorter time frame.

Do you provide diagnosis?

Although I have a clinically informed background, I do not provide any medical advice or treatment. I would be happy to refer you to the right services as needed.

How much does it cost?

$95 per 60 minute individual session. This cost includes counseling session and meeting preparations made by the counselor outside of session time. However, I never want finances to be a hindrance from pursuing counseling. If you email me by clicking here, I am happy to work with you! At this time, I do not have any partnerships with insurance.

What is your cancelation policy?

To ensure that I offer quality service to my counselees, I kindly request a minimum of 24 hours notice for any appointment cancellations or rescheduling. If you are unable to give at least 24 hours notice, you will be charged for the missed appointment. I acknowledge that unforeseen events can occur, and I will do my best to work with you in such situations. However, repeated missed appointments may result in termination of services. I greatly appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

How do I schedule a session?

You can schedule your free 15 minute phone consultation or first session by clicking here: Schedule me! :) New counselees should select “intake session” and fill out their information.
